These are turbulent times for John and Joyce Watts. Allegan Couple in Legal Hot Water.

The high-profile Allegan couple is in separate pots of legal hot water. Joyce Watts, the long-time Allegan county clerk, is being investigated by the state Attorney General’s office over possible criminal irregularities.

Meanwhile, John Watts has been disbarred for a year by the state Attorney Discipline Board. The long-time barrister isn’t contesting allegations of various transgressions of ethical behavior, and faces a preliminary hearing next month on criminal embezzlement, fraud and auto theft charges.

I changed my mind on closing the Mexican borders. Heres my new plan.

I always considered myself conservative, but I just changed my mind. Let’s open the border for illegals to come into our country, but for every one we take in, we send a LIBERAL to Mexico. Problem solved! Mexico would shut the border down!

Missouri, the “Show Me” state has once again showed the rest of the United States how it should be done. English, the only official language of Missouri.

Missouri, the “Show Me” state has once again showed the rest of the United States how it should be done.

There needs to be more publicity and exposure regarding what Missouri has done.

Let’s pass it around. Spread the word and contact your representative at the State level to get this enacted. We spend millions of dollars having forms in every language under the sun.  This must stop to get us out of our deficit and no more benefits to those who come here illegally and take from our resources, such as DHS, food stamps, etc.

In 2007, Missouri placed on the ballot a proposed constitutional amendment designating English as the official language of Missouri.      In November, 2008, nearly 90% voting in favor!    Thus

English became the official language for ALL governmental activity in Missouri.
Click this link to actually see the law.

No individual has the right to demand government services in a language OTHER than English.

In 2008 a measure was passed that required the Missouri Highway Patrol and other law enforcement officials to verify the immigration status of any person arrested, and inform federal authorities if the person is found to be in Missouri illegally.      Missouri law enforcementoffices receive specific training with respect to enforcement of federal immigration laws.

In Missouri illegal immigrants do NOT have access to taxpayers benefits such as food stamps and health care through Missouri HealthNET.      In 2009 a measure was passed that ensures Missouri’s public institutions of higher education do NOT award financial aid to individuals who are illegally in the United States.

In Missouri all post-secondary institutions of higher education to annually certify to the Missouri Dept. of Higher Education that they have NOT knowingly awarded financial aid to students who are unlawfully present in the United States.

So while Arizona has made national news for its new law, it is important to remember Missouri has been far more proactive in addressing this horrific problem.

Missouri has made it clear that illegal immigrants are NOT welcome in the state and they will certainly NOT  receive public benefits at the expense  of Missouri taxpayers!

Lets follow the show me State and take our country back one State at a time.

There are no Mexican illegals in Missouri to demonstrate, because they don’t come to this State because they know there are no handouts.  Stop all this insane madness.

Michigan Republican Convention erupts in anger; Rick Snyder calls for unity. Tea Partiers take charge with their delegates.

This little girl thinks this Congressman doesn’t know sh#$. She may be right!

A Congressman  was seated next to a little girl on an airplane so he  turned to her and said, “Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if  you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.”

The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total stranger, “What would you want to talk about?”

“Oh, I don’t know,” said the congressman. “How about global warming, universal health care, or stimulus packages?” as he smiled smugly.

“OK,” she said. “Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first.
A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff  – grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat  patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?”

The legislator, visibly surprised by the little girl’s intelligence, thinks about it and says, “Hmmm, I have no idea.”

To which the little girl replies, “Do you really feel qualified to discuss  global warming, universal health care, or the economy, when you don’t know shit?” and, then she went back to reading her book.

County Board of Canvassers recounts Dorr Township Fire Millage Friday Aug. 27th at 10 am

The results of the recount after being recounted by hand:

We watched and observed each ballot as they were counted by the Allegan County Canvass Board and we thank all of them for their hard diligent work in making sure that the ballots are counted accurately.

This is from election night.

This is the recount tallies after hand counting:     Precinct 1     257 total ballots    14 did not vote at all for the fire millage
YES-135   NO-108    Did Not bother to vote- 14

Precinct 2    546 total ballots    29 did not vote at all for the fire millage
                                                                              YES-273    NO-244   Did NOT bother to vote-29

Precinct 3    434 total ballots    31 did not vote at all for the fire millage
YES-204 (GAIN of 1 vote)  NO-199   Did NOT bother to vote-31

Precinct 4    284 total ballots  19 did not vote at all for the fire millage
                                                                              YES-103     NO-162     Did NOT bother to vote-19

We are happy to have had this recount, because once again the tally did indeed change, and with one vote at stake, it could have been the other way around, so we just want to make sure the peoples will is being heard, and with this hand recount, we know without a doubt that this is what the Dorr Township people voted for, and increase in Fire funding by 2 votes. One persons vote was not counted the first time, so this assures everyone that your vote was indeed counted. Once again, we want to thank Joyce Watts, the Allegan county clerk and all her help from the Allegan County Canvass board in their tedious work in hand counting those ballots. We the people of Dorr Township really appreciate it.  Thank you.

And remember:  Your 1 VOTE does count!  So exercise your right to vote in November.  This is what I wrote and this is what the Globe wrote after they read this blog.  They got their information from this blog after I sent them the link to it.  Read their take on this recount.

Dorr fire millage will be recounted

At the May recount, Allegan County clerk Joyce Watts said the difference in vote totals may have been attributed to the township’s tabulators, as the machines in regular use tend to build up paper dust on the laser eye that counts the votes.

She no longer believes tabulator wear and tear is the cause;
she said votes changed because several votes were marked with X’s or checks; as the oval for the selection was not filled in, the tabulator did not register the selection.

She said the machines are accurate enough that, if the ovals were marked properly, the vote tallies wouldn’t change.

We shall see on Friday, Aug. 27th if those tabulators are accurate. Joyce Watts is now coming up with another excuse as to why the votes were off from the Recall election. Now she has a new reason. Well, lets see what it is now that they have to hand count them.  Why did Joyce Watts not hand count those Recall ballots, and even at that, she only machine counted them once?  Why not 4 times like they are going to do on Aug. 27th, that is my question.  Nothing in this township or county has any consistency as to how and why they do things, they do everything on a whim it seems.

Allegan and Dorr Township officials do not listen to their constituients. Our Republic is being stolen from us!

Less than 2 weeks ago, Allegan County and Dorr Township citizens voted on 2 millages that were defeated.  The Allegan County Jail and the Dorr  Township Library.  The people spoke by their votes and both government bodies have once again stuck their middle fingers to the voters and said, we don’t respect the outcome of your vote, so we will put it on the November ballot until we get the outcome we want.

This is outrageous!  When our government does not respect our votes. Voters than ask, “why even vote?”

  1. When the government doesn’t like the outcome of an election, they quickly move to put it back on the ballot the next election 3 months down the road. (Michigan has election dates every 3 months people, Feb. May, Aug. and Nov. did you know that?)
  2. What happens when a millage passes for those who voted it down? We don’t get another chance to defeat it in 3 months!
  3. What happens when the candidates we vote for don’t win? We don’t get to have another election 3 months from now to try 1 more time to get our candidate  in office!

This needs to change. I think when millages are brought before the electorate, that vote should be sacrosanct for a least 2 years just like when we vote for candidates.  The Michigan legislature should move quickly to enact a statute to protect the citizens decisions  in Michigan when we vote on millages. The outcome should stand until the next general or midterm elections, a minimum of 2 years before they can be put on the ballot again. We should also put all millages ( tax assessments) on the November ballot, when most people come to vote, instead of in February, May or Aug. elections when the turnout is less than 10%..  The powers to be have this all figured out. Citizens need to wake up and smell the coffee.

In a republic when we vote, there will always be winners and losers, that is what voting is all about. In a basketball game or football game, when a team looses by a couple points, they don’t get a another chance to play the game again a few weeks later, to see if the outcome changes, why should we with elections? Thats what you call good sportsmanship, but politicians don’t like to play like that. They think they must always win!

We just had a recall election in Dorr Township and that result was not the outcome we had hoped for, but the citizens voted and READ and ReFELT respected the citizens votes. You had winners and losers.  I suppose that we could have just kept the recall going and going and going, after all, we were within 125 votes out of almost 2000 to change that outcome,  but all you would hear are those same ole familiar phrases of “sour grapes”, but the “voice” of the people is whats important.  The people get their chance to tell government what they want by their votes, and the government and the loosing side should listen.

I wish all levels of government, from the township, county, State and Federal would listen to the people by their votes, otherwise what we end up with are:

  • 1 Judge overruling millions of people in California’s proportion 8 which passed overwhelming by the people about marriage as one man and one women.
  •  Presidents and Congress enacting health care initiatives without reading the bill before they pass it and sticking it to the people who say NO.
  • the Federal government overriding the State of  Arizona on their immigration enforcement of illegal immigrants that mirrors federal law already enacted.
  • 8 Allegan County Commissioners  pushing through a multi million dollar jail again this November after the people overwhelmingly said NO not even 2 weeks ago.
  • and 7 Dorr township board members who will not have to pay one penny of their own money, but forced a multimillion dollar sewer project through Dorr that their constituents do not need or want to pay for, who legally petitioned it down not once, but twice in the last 2 years.

These self imposed dictators have failed us miserably in what our Republic style government is suppose to be.
We are a government of, by and  for the people.
God help this Nation, we are losing our representative Republic!
