Hillcrest Mall vs. Colonial Kitchen on sewer assessments (click pics to enlarge)

Hillcrest Mall paid $53,022.50 for their sewers for this whole building from Dicks to the Bowling Alley in the 1st phase in 2006.

Colonial Kitchen was assessed $54,000 for their sewers in this 2nd phase in January of 2008.

By comparison, it looks like you could fit at least 3 Colonial Kitchens inside just Dicks Market, let alone the whole rest of the mall. Something stinks to high heaven, don’t you think?

This house is assessed in 2008 for $12,000 for their sewers in 2nd phase? Why so much desparity

Yes, 12 thousand dollars, that is correct! Insane, but yes correct!

4205 Cedar St. next to Colonial Kitchen just North of Resturant.

This house was only charged $2640 for sewers in the 1st phase of the project in 2006

Yes, you are reading this correctly. 2 thousand 6 hundred and forty dollars!

Dorr Public Sewers in Litchfield, Ranchero & downtown. We still have time to stop this but we need your HELP NOW!

RESIDENTS What is your Cost? $12,000 per resident vs. approximately $4000 to $6000 that I was told it would cost in July of 2007 by 2 township board members when I went to the Dorr Township offices to inquire about this sewer project.

Can you pay for this over time? Yes, 20 yrs with interest, but the township is working on a 40 year payment plan. Call township hall at 681-9874 for more info.

What would my payment be on 40 years? 1st year at about $900 and each year after declining to about $350 the last 40th year.

Are there other payments? Yes, quarterly usage fees, right now as of January 2008, the cost for Leighton is $88, so that is paid 4 times a year. As everything in life goes up, so will this for the next 40 years, count on it, lets be realistic!

COMMERCIAL Business and Commerical lots are even more money. You are assessed a mutlipling factor. You must get this factor from Don Kaczanowski at the Township offices at 681-9874 M,W or F from 9-5. If your multipling factor is 5 lets say, just calculate your sewer cost as: 5 x 12,000 = $60,000. Plus you would have hook up fees, which would vary from place to place, but average cost of this is about $2500 to $3000 at Dorr Township estimates, so who really knows what this is, and then you also have your quarterly usage fees that must be paid forever every 3 months. The usage fees at this time are $88 every 3 months, so if your multiplying factor you get from the township is 5, then your usuage fee is 5 x $88 =$440 every 3 months forever!

If this sewer project goes through, there is a LIEN on your house or business, as the township will collect this from the new owners, if it is not paid off by you.

There is time to STOP this project, but the time is very short, only until January 21st, so if you want to STOP this, please come and sign our PETITION at either COLONIAL KITCHEN RESTURANT in downtown Dorr or SUMMER SUN TANNING just below the Hillcrest Hill. We need lots of signatures of legal landowners from the affected sewer district, which runs from Hillcrest Mall down 142nd into Litchfield, Ranchero into downtown Dorr to Red Run Creek next to N & S Park just past the Post Office. Also, please tell everyone you know, its that important.

If you do nothing, this project proceeds without delay, and after January 24th of 2008, there is NOTHING we can do to stop this, and you will then for sure start getting your bills for at least $12,000 for residents, and much much more for businesses, so NOW is the time to ACT!

Send this website on to everybody you know to get the word out!

Thank you.
