Dorr Fire Department officials ask Bernard Schumaker some questions on his views if elected Dorr Township Supervisor

Bernard Schumaker for Dorr Township Supervisor | Questions asked of me by Dorr Fire Department officers

Allegan County Jail called impractical. 9 County Commissioners are not listening to the people. Maybe they need to go too? Let the people VOTE on this $$$$$$$$$Multi-Million Dollar project$$$$$$$$$$$$

Allegan News Online

We have 11 county commissioners who are all elected by the people to represent us in our districts, Mr. Mark DeYoung & Mr. Paul VanEck, being our county commissioners for different parts of Dorr area.

They both seem to think this project is a great idea and voted to proceed with it. (9 for and 2 against)   Please make sure that we the people have a chance to vote on this New Jail that will cost in excess of over $30,000,000, unless of course you both can convince Bill Gates to pay for this project, which in this case, you can build whatever you 9 commissioners & Bill Gates thinks suits you.

If we the "people" are going to pay,  we the people want a "say", and the democratic way for this is through a millage vote, by the taxpayers, not by 9 commissioners who think they know better how to spend OUR MONEY!  So I would suggest that you really, really consider what you are doing when you make your  decision on this multi-million dollar project, Mr. DeYoung & Mr. VanEck!

This reeks much like the sewer district in Dorr Township where the 7 board members seemed to think they know better than the people who elected them!  This kind of government must come to an end.  You are elected to REPRESENT US!  No one is asking you to THINK FOR US!  We are pretty capable of doing this for ourselves!  You can come up with a proposal for the jail, that is what we elect you for, then step aside and put it on the ballot and let the people who will ultimately pay for this project decide at the polls!  If you don’t think the people are capable of this, then the same people who thought you were capable to represent us may come to a very different conclusion on election day that will determine YOUR  future.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

Have a great day!
